Kristie Wright School of Dance currently offers classes in two locations:
- Our Kokomo studio is located at 3704 South
Reed Road
- Our Logansport studio is located at 719 Spencer St. (8th &
Spear).
To succeed in most forms of dance, a strong background in ballet is essential. Students enrolled in tap and jazz classes are also required to take a weekly ballet class. This school
follows the teachings of Cav. Enrico Cecchetti and our teachers are members of:
The Cecchetti Method of ballet is a curriculum designed to prepare students
for a professional career in ballet. Serious students are encouraged to study the syllabus of the
CCA and to be presented for exams. The method is equally beneficial for recreational students. The
Cecchetti Method requires that students learn theory, proper technique, the correct terms in French and
their definitions in English, ballet history and basic anatomy. Although, with young children and beginning students the emphasis is on creating joy in movement and a love of dance.
Dance is a performing art. Therefore, it is an important part of a dancer's training to experience the thrill of the stage. A performance is presented annually in Kokomo (at Haven's
Auditorium - Indiana University Kokomo). There are more performance opportunities available
for students who show promise with our company "Stage Struck".
Our teachers are dedicated to delivering the best possible training to our students. They
are continually seeking training for themselves by attending classes, seminars, and conventions.
